The Office of the Prime Minister and Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) is issuing a call for for applications for investment-ready and commercially-viable animation projects and animation studios for inclusion in the Business-2-Business (B2B) virtual meetings at the upcoming KingstOOn Animation Conference and Film Festival, April 21- 25, 2021.
Connect with top local and international broadcasters and investors who can greenlight your project and invest in your animation business. This highly effective format features matchmaking between pre-qualified individuals/businesses and potential content buyers and investors.
CELEBRATING DIVERISTY IN ANIMATION
The KingstOOn theme is “Celebrating Diversity in Animation”. Animation projects reflecting characters, stories, cultures and values of under-represented communities in screen-based industries, including stories created by people of African descent, are encouraged.
The offer is open to Jamaican Citizens and Residents in any of the following three categories:
- Owners of Animated Projects (IPs). Applicants in this category are required to submit a Full Pitch Bible.
- Owners of Animation Studios. Applicants in this category are required to submit no less than a one (1) minute Show Reel and a Company Profile.
- Entrepreneurs interested in establishing an animation studio. Applicants in this category are required to submit a Business Plan.
Animation Projects (IPs) should be fully conceptualized with some level of work undertaken towards making it viable and bankable, i.e., have strong commercial potential to be able to attract investment.
Pitch Bibles should include:
- Synopsis of the storyline
- Character designs and profiles
- Concept art of characters in action and environments
- Brief description of a few episodes (for series)
- 360 marketing strategy
- Awards (where applicable)
Company Profiles should include:
- Brief description of the background of company
- Services provided
- Organizational structure and staffing
- Outline of recent work and clients most relevant to this initiative
Business Plans should include:
- Market Research
- Problem Statement
- Business Model Canvas
- Marketing Strategy
- Financial Projections
Animation Studio Showreels should showcase the studio’s best animated work via on online video link.
