BACKGROUND

Sesame Workshop creates innovative, engaging content that maximizes the educational power of all media, helping children reach their highest potential. Sesame Workshop is a nonprofit organization of writers, artists, researchers, and educators. Sesame Workshop creates educational content for children from birth through age 12, delivered through a variety of media including television, radio, the internet [www.sesamestreet.org], film, home video, books, magazines, and community outreach.

 

INVITATION FOR PITCHES AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Sesame Workshop is collecting submissions for Season 52 films! They are interested in commissioning ANIMATED and MIXED MEDIA shorts, and would like to include Jamaican college and university students in their requests for pitches. Applicants are required to be Jamaican citizens (or permanent residents) and currently enrolled as a student at a tertiary or vocational training institution in Jamaica ((including students enrolled in Animation Associate and Degree Programmes)

Your pitch should include:

 

  1. your idea/pitch, including any thoughts on implementation
  2. an itemized budget (must include an insurance quote) ;
  3. a project development timeline;
  4. storyboards, illustrations or any relevant images as points of reference;
  5. a resource allocation sheet listing key creative expected to be assigned to the project.

 

NOTE: PITCHES SHOULD NOT INCLUDE SESAME STREET CHARACTERS OR PUPPETRY OF ANY KIND.

Also, if you are pitching to us for the first time, please tell us the name of the tertiary and vocational training institution that you are currently enrolled in, and about your project team. Please also share any other sample work that you have created, including class projects, or a demo reel.

All proposals are due via email by (or before) March 31, 2021 11:59 P.M. Easter Standard Time. We plan to select our winning pitch shortly thereafter. Pitches, as well as questions regarding this RFP, should be submitted via e-mail to Robert Reid at Robert.Reid@opm.gov.jm.
