Emmy award winning producer, Joel Kuwahara is a co-founder and principal of Bento Box Entertainment. Joel oversees the production of the company’s pilots, special projects, visual development and technology. In addition, Joel oversees the studio’s digital production pipeline and work-flow. Not many entertainment industry professionals can list Homer Simpson and the Dalai Lama among their clients, but Joel surely can. Prior to Bento, Joel was a production executive at Film Roman and served as a producer on “The Simpsons” movie and the animated series “The Goode Family” for ABC. Joel also co-directed the Starz skate documentary “San Vanelona.”
In a fascinating and unexpected turn of events, Joel was asked by the Dalai Lama to preserve and digitize his teachings by setting up a self-sustaining digital lab at His Holiness’ monastery in Dharamsala, India. Joel currently serves as Animation Executive Producer on “Bob’s Burgers”and “Bordertown” both on FOX and Comedy Central’s new animated series “Legends of Chamberlain Heights” which debuts summer 2016.
